A friend of mine said he spent a number of months in Germany as a High School Student. He said that in the morning the mother would do exactly that. She would bring the water to a boil, take off the flames and a minute later, pour it over the coffee grounds to brew. Once again, Andrew simplifies the complex. Well said! I think this is about how long it takes for a quart of boiling water to cool to 205 degrees, an ideal temperature for brewing.
