"Pelican Johnny is a DIY one-man band Americana punky-folk singer-songwriter who is originally from Richmond, VA now living in Philadelphia, PA. He was recently a Top 10 finalist in the 2011 Norfolk Sea Level Music Festival Emerging Artist competition which was headlined by Justin Townes Earle. Lately, he has been playing shows with Joe Jack Talcum of the Dead Milkmen in Philly.

Although he is a solo acoustic performer, he goes the extra mile to not be lumped in with the typical “background noise” stereo-type that acoustic acts many times fall into. Songs riddled with easy-to-like hooks combined with an energetic and quirky live performance ensure one heck of an entertaining show. He has shared the stage with rockabilly, honky-tonk, straight-ahead rock’n’roll bands - even Joe Buck (of Hank Williams III’s band) as well as more mellow "traditional" acoustic acts."
